HOW TO VIEW SAVED PASSWORDS ON ANDROID:
Your Android smartphone automatically save passwords for most websites unless you particularly reject that option. Google introduced the Autofill option to make it easier for users to remember multiple passwords. These passwords are saved when you sign in apps such as Instagram and Facebook. So now you can see and recover these passwords if they are saved via autofill.

HOW TO VIEW SAVED PASSWORDS ON ANDROID USING CHROME BROWSER
If you want to view saved passwords on your android phones, you can directly see them via the chrome settings. Just follow the steps mentioned below:
- Open the Google Chrome browser
- Now click on the three dots present on the top right corner of the app screen.
- Next, go to the Settings from the pop-up menu that just appeared. Refer to the Image below if needed.
- Then tap on the Passwords section under the ‘Basics’ tab as shown below.
- The Password window will appear where you can see all the saved passwords to date. These passwords are arranged in alphabetical order.
- Click on any password view and copy-paste it.
- Now click on the eye icon next to the hidden password to unhide the password.
- The device will then prompt you for authentication in order to see the password. Authenticate yourself using Fingerprint or pattern or even your device’s password.
- You can now view the password in plain text format.
If you are planning to remove or change your Google account but don’t want to lose your passwords then you can export chrome passwords. You can easily do it from from the chrome settings:
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Now tap on the three dots present on the top right corner:
- Go to Settings from the pop-up menu and click on passwords under the ‘Basics’ section.
- The Password window will appear. Tap on the three dots present in the top right corner of your screen and you will see the ‘Export passwords’ section.
- After selecting the option you will receive a warning message, again select the Export Passwords option to securely export your password.
- You will need to provide authentication for the same.
- The passwords will now be exported is in .csv format. Make sure to secure this file since it has a lot of confidential information.

HOW TO DELETE SAVED PASSWORDS IN BROWSER
Now suppose you want to delete the saved passwords for particular websites in Chrome for security reasons. This applies especially for bank and account passwords which should not be saved.
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Now tap on the three dots in the right corner
- Next, go to Settings then the Passwords section present under the ‘Basics’ section.
- The Password window will appear. Select any password you want to delete by clicking on it from here.
- Select the options icon in the password row and select option “Remove”.
- The password will be removed completely from your device as soon as you tap on the Trash icon. Also, you cannot undo this action so make sure that this is what you want.

PREVENT GOOGLE Browser FROM SAVING PASSWORDS
If you are like me and paranoid about your cyber-security, then you can prevent Google Chrome from saving your passwords completely. This basically disables the autofill feature.
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Now tap on the three dots present on the top right corner of the screen.
- Now, go to Settings from the pop-up menu and click on Passwords present under the ‘Basics’ section.
- The Password window will appear. Here, Turn off the toggle save passwords and auto sign-in switch present next to ‘Save passwords.’
- Now Chrome won’t save any passwords on your android device.
That’s all folks you have disabled the autosave of passwords from chrome and autofill feature.
